We had a light 10 minute rain shower at about 07:00 at the Florida Sea Base. The remnants of TD 5 have move back into the Gulf but I don’t think it will pose any threat to us. We had a small thunderstorm around 17:45 and then a longer lasting system set in at 20:15.
We continue to wind down. Staff members Gwynne Carpenter, Mitchell Selby from the Coral Reef staff and Mike Freeland from the Food Services staff departed today. Capt. Has Bockelman (S/V Adventure), and Capt. Alan Robinson (S/V Sinbad) departed this morning with Coral Reef Sailing crews. Capt. Ron Kullick (S/V Sudden Impulse) got the last Coral Reef Sailing crew of the summer today. Today is the last arrival day for Scuba Adventure crews. There is no Scuba Certification crew today. The final Scuba Liveaboard crew will arrive Tuesday. They will be the final arrival of the summer.
Ellen and Capt. Dennis filled me in today on the results of the Friday the 13th Staff Scavenger Hunt. Team Pentagon took first place. The team members included Katie Hammond, Paul Lipsky, Wes Mantle, Mike Freeland, and Lacy Bobo. Second place went to The Winners. This team included Dan Mikalian, Mel Rynd, Sargon Smith, Vince Viola, and Whitney Baxter. Third place winners were Beyond Awesome. The team members included Sophia Stokes, Jeff Johnson, and Brittany Haury.
Check-ins went smoothly. We have one young man that may have arrived with a hernia. His parents have been notified and we already have a doctor’s appointment for him at 09:00 tomorrow.
That’s all for today. It’s time for a shower and to hit the sack.
