Most of he 2011 Florida Sea Base Divemaster Academy cadre has arrived; Rich Goldman, Captain Alex Bergstedt, Christy Clemenson, Captain Dennis Wyatt and I are present and accounted for.  Dave Ball is having some travel issues and is expecting to get in late this evening.  Seasonal staff members Kyle Moran and Michael Runowich have transitioned into their new roles of DMA candidates.  Other Class 8 candidates, Jason Witter, Justin Evans and Hank Gordon, have arrived early and the rest will continue trickling in today.  The fun officially starts at 0730 Sunday.  The crying, wailing and gnashing of teeth probably won’t start until Tuesday.  We focused on paperwork, classroom set-up, supply inventory, uniform dispersement, vessel preparation, and gear assembly yesterday.

Dr. Ellen Stites-Wyatt has taken full charge of the Program Office.  The place looks great already.

S/V Excalibur returned to the Florida Sea Base dock today.  Captain Michele headed out the other day when the wind was howling and returned today with very little wind.  The wind has been below 15 knots since 1000 yesterday.  Weather, you’ve got to love it.

Captain Alex Bergstedt, Rich Goldman, and Christy Clemenson are on a mission to set up part of an underwater navigation course this morning.  I may join them but I’m trying to justify being away from the office.

I hope you have a glorious weekend.
