OPERATIONAL

in Scuba  •  0 comments

Good news at the Florida Sea Base!  The BSA Burglar will be operational today for the Scuba Certification crews and the BSA Tarpon will be back in service for the Scuba Adventure crew.  The BSA Tarpon is like a WWII mine abandoned underwater; it’s going to let go, but know one knows when.  Work a week, off a week.  That’s the BSA Tarpon schedule.  Sign me up!

And MORE good news from Captain/Bus Driver Dennis Wyatt:

“Bald Man and the Sea” is free to download via Kindle or via Kindle Reader to your laptop on Wednesday June 13th, Thursday June 14th, and Friday June 15th.  “BaldER Man and the Sea” is free to download June 11, 12, 13 ,14 and 15.   Some critics say Bald and Balder are great “beach reads”.  Other critics say to leave them on the beach for the tide to sweep away to a watery grave.  Author Dennis will autograph your Kindle or laptop.   Send your electronics to Lady Lake FL.

We are going to have a decent chance of rain just in time for our National Annual Camp Inspection.  We should have clear skies through Wednesday and a 30% chance of rain for Thursday.  Yahoo!!!  By the way, check out the new, experimental National Weather Service Marine Forecast page.  Chip, the page looks really cool.  All I ask is that the forecast part not go away.  An accurate forecast is worth much more than a pretty Google map.

I’m running late this morning.  Have a great day!

Captain Dennis Wyatt is the renowned, New Yirk Times Best Selling, author of the totally sold out book, “Bald Man in the Sea”.  Occassionally you can find a copy on eBay for $35.  But wait; hope is not lost.  Please read on:

Dear Friends,

Ellen and I work and more work at the Florida Sea Base.  We’re enjoying the energy of hundreds of Scouts.  We have had some wind and we have had some great weather.  Ellen is knocking out reviewing the files of a few thousands Scout Scuba Divers.  I’m driving them out to the reefs to see fish.

The food this year is very very good.  The two new cooks must be on pinterest.com daily.  Our summer plans are still in the flexible undecided mode.  The big news from Lady Lake:  the little private road Ella Drive is being paved.  Ellen and I had some serious interaction with the school buses that used to destroy the pavement of our private road.  The six bus turnarounds have officially been stymied without the erection of a giant chain.  Ellen’s emails were effective.  And so were her thank you emails.  The neighborhood banned together to pave.  One neighbor started the process while another contacted a contractor.  Then another is handling the money.  Eleven families helping each other without a condo association and without lawyers.

I organized all my mass letters from 2000 through 2012 and published them under the title: The Balder Man and the Sea.  BUT….it’s only on Kindle.  Ellen is the co-author.  However, I did make a small little error in the “Contributors” section of the computer program…so Ellen may appear at the only author.

I said to her, “Don’t worry. Readers can tell the difference between my letters and your letters.”  She said, “Yes, I use periods and punctuation.” Ouch and oweee.

Hope life goes well.  This letter didn’t make it onto Kindle.  Maybe it will make it on The Baldest Man and the Sea.

All the misspellings and exaggerations are mine.

If you don’t have a Kindle®, I understand they offer free reader software.  I have a rare, autographed copy of the first book.  Captain Dennis has offered to autograph my laptop if I download the new book.  I really enjoyed the first book and recommend it if you happen to find a copy on line, in a library or at a garage sale.  I hope to make time to read the new release as soon as I get past the Course Director application process and file my income tax (I’ll need the tax refund to pay for the book).
